Groovy
I really like the beat. Lyrics are pretty trite, but you've got good flow. I also think it'll sound better after you put that extra verse in, good luck
Thanks brother, I value your response. I appreciate that... I definitely need someone to jump on this and drop a sick verse...who knows i might just complete this one alone!!!??? -cYn SiTy
I think it's good sounding and I liked the progression, but as a song it feels lacking. I think it would sound a lot better if you added more to it, and worked on it a bit longer
Ever consider adding vocals? I think that would make this song complete, the pacing would feel perfect if you put em in the right places. In all areas this is fantastic work, loving that solo at the end. You should post more tracks if you get the time
(Also, props for using original instruments, that's something that I really appreciate on this site.)
Not being a fan of experimental, industrial, or ambient music in general, I think the way that you've blended them here definitely sets you apart from your contemporaries. I liked it. I would have maybe used a high shelf on the EQ, but I might just be over-sensitive to higher frequencies, always have been.
I'm still not sure what to say: an honest score, a potentially legendary compliment and constructive criticism all in one. All this from someone who doesn't even like what I (we) do, in general.
Give this guy some love.
Is that a fucking Shamisen on the beat? Love it, dude
Thanks my man! When is your next release hitting? I enjoy your stuff!
Nice! I would agree with the comment about mixing it up a bit more, but only in terms of volume dynamics, I think the sounds themselves are perfectly diverse enough. It's a very personal opinion, but some parts sound like they could be a little louder or quieter than others... Just remember with chiptune, I think a little volume goes a long way.
Even the way it is though, I love it. This is definitely the sort of quality you would see on a successful retro-throwback game. It's inspired, and definitely earned that frontpage status (gratz btw). This actually has me wanting to open up Famitracker and start composing 8-bit songs again
I like this. My only real complaint would be the hard panning, which was probably an intentional choice, but it's just something that never sits well with my ears, especially when wearing headphones. Even with that though, I loved it. I could tell you had a lot of fun with it, and that feeling is contagious when listening to it. Congrats on getting Frontpaged, this track definitely earns it.
P.S. I'd love to hear that 40 minute album this was part of. If you've released it, link that shit
Thank you Towny!
